[Chartreuse] Connection between GR9 and Cheminee du Paradis
Hello
I am planning a trip in Chartreuse, in the north of Dent de Crolles, and I’m looking for a shortcut to reach Cheminee du Paradis and then Saint Hilaire.
When I was walking on GR9 from Dent de Crolles to Cabane de Bellefont, I remember seeing this sign :

but on the maps I have (the one below + IGN), this trail does not seem to exist :

Does anyone know how difficult is this segment (for a casual hiker, without special equipment) ? How can I continue to Saint Hilaire from Cheminee du Paradis ? A more detailed map would be very helpful too.
Thanks
Hello, this segment isn’t very difficult. You don’t need special equipment.
You can see the Cheminée du Paradis on this picture :

And you can reach Cheminée du Paradis by the "Pas de Rocheplane" from Saint Hilaire. (http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=318776PasdeRocheplane.jpg)
On the IGN’s maps : http://geoportail.fr/url/7FF3KC
I have managed to create this itinerary for tomorrow :

From Col de Bellefont to Pas de Rocheplane are there any passages that require advanced technical skills ?
Plan B is to stay on GR9 up to here : http://hpics.li/b661686 (but I have walked on this segment before).
Also, I intend to start at Col de Marcieu and return to St Hilaire. Would you recommend me to do it in reverse ?
Hello,
From Col de Bellefont to Pas de Rocheplane aren’t passages that require advanced technical skills
There are just 2 little technical passages on the rock, but there are many holds.
For exemple, I went to this place today on the bike, (wearing bike)
For direction, there isn’t important, the difficulty will be similar.
I will personally in reverse, preferably.
In your direction, there is the sun in the morning on the "Vallon de Marcieu". You have the sun all day. It’s more interestant
I’d like to thank both of you for the advice. It was indeed quite easy (the trail marked on the maps attached previously). I couldn’t afford to make a detour to Cheminee du Paradis (was worried about catching the bus), but I have acknowledged the trail.
